I don't know why anyone would want to swim in the Thames! Apparently it's swum past the Houses of Parliament – I'm surprised it hasn't been arrested as you can be arrested for protesting there now. Seriously, though, I hope it's OK and gets back to safer waters soon.

Awww bless! I'm just watching it on the news now. They seem to have lost it now tho, it hasnt surfaced for a while. Hopefully its gone back out to sea. They think its not well though, cos it would never have come up the Thames if it was healthy. Its been stranded a couple of times already. I think its knackered, the poor thing

It is in very salty water, baring in mind that the tide from the sea comes up the Thames.....then its met with fresh water streaming down the Thames......from all the rivers that flow into the Thames...
Its in flood at the mo, so plenty of saline water there, but what will happen once it starts to turn and ebb......hopefully when it ebbs, the flow will help it swim out to the sea......
It has about 40 miles to swim yet and its swimming into the flow..........sigh....
