I have had a rant about this in the past on another forum but next Tuesday I have a meeting in London so rather than driving down and messing about I have booked rail travel.
Luckily the company pay for the travel as the tickets that I have just booked are standard return travel from Manchester to Euston leaving at 7-15am at a total price of £208. Yes you do read correctly it's £208.
How can a train firm justify charging these prices??? I think it's a disgrace. It's cheaper to fly.

That is quite pricey! I hope that includes pre-booked seats otherwise you could find yourself standing for part of the way........now that would just make the train experience complete wouldnt it!

As a daily comuter it makes me mad! The "Happy New Year" price increases are ridiculous, especially as the trains are never on time, and always utterly packed. Has my salary risen to match the increase? No chance! The only reason I don't drive in is because there is absolutely no parking in Bath. Come on, someone, invent the jet pack, please???

Bad Bunny - well the jet pack would certainly be a novel way of getting to work!
