Traffic wardens are awful. I have issues with them ever since being clamped in Hackney and towed away. I had to pay £200 to get my car back, even though I DID have a pay and display ticket. It wasnt in the windscreen tho, as the sticky stuff didnt stick for long enough to keep it there. I never did get my money back! I did get my own back once on a load of traffic wardens tho. They had parked their minibus on yellow lines in the road next to the police station and had gone into the police station for their lunch. When I went out, having passed them in the canteen 5 minutes earlier, I saw that their bus was on yellow lines, and called up on the radio and told them to move it. They didnt, so I slapped a ticket on their bus I was disgusted tho, because they were gonna leave that canteen, get into their minibus and go put tickets on vehicles that had done exactly what they had just done! Talk about hypocritcial!!!

. That's fantastic Jackie and quite right to. I once had an argument with a traffic warden for giving me a ticket because my rear bumper was over a double yellow line. I came out of the shop and he was giving me a ticket which was fair enough as I was in the wrong (I think). Anyway I noticed that his moped was parked on the yellow lines behind my car so I asked him the question "You going to book yourself then?". He gave me a ticket and went on his merry way. And then they wonder why people dislike them.

See, one rule for one, one for another! I always made sure I wasnt parked illegally, unless of course it was an emergency call. Saying that, I never ever parked on zebra crossing zigzags, which are the most irritating of drivers. That and parking outside schools on the yellow zigzags. I used to have great fun giving out tickets to those people and got loads of complaints saying that I was being unfair!! Turned out that most of the time, people only complained because they thought by doing that, we would crap ourselves and let them off the ticket! Once they found out that we wouldnt do that, they soon dropped their complaints! But thats the society we live in now...sue everyone to get "compensation"...another issue which annoys the hell out of me...

Talking about compensation Jacks, i work in an office which deals with claims for the solicitors and some of the claims, they're unbelievable.

lol....the amount of people who claim for the stupidest thing, they should ban compensation unless in extreme circumstances. It just makes people greedy!

People think it is their right, that should someone do something wrong that they should get paid out. Never mind justice! I once dealt with a couple of lads who got beaten up. They werent interested in helping the police with their enquiries, didnt want to give statements or have the person responsible arrested and punished for what they had done. But they did want compensation. They found out too late, that in order to get compensation from the CICB, they have to fully co-operate with police! Ha! That ever so slightly backfired on them

its a shame though because the ones that really deserve the claim don't get much and the ones that just make lame claims can get quite a bit.

Compensation culture drives me mad! The number of people who said I should sue the council when I tripped over my own feet and broke a bone in my foot! Don't these greedy little so and sos realise that it's all their daft claims that put everyone's council tax up?! I could rant on about this for ever but I'd get too angry, so I'll just say "Grrrrrr!" These claimants and their lawyers would be in my room 101!

Jackie just to let you know I was in the chat room the other night when I fell off a ladder because the floor is uneven. I must warn you to expect a letter from my virtual solicitors in the next few days.
