Hello everyone!
Yesterday, mum and I went to Witchfest in Croydon. The reason we went is because my mum is getting into the whole Qabala thing and she's really interested in David and what he has to say. Neither of us are Wiccan, but that wasn't really the point. We didn't look too out of place lol.
We were meant to do David's workshop in the morning about past life regression, but the traffic into Croydon was absolutely awful, and we had to make an unscheduled stop because of my stupid intestines so we didn't arrive until about half eleven, twelveish. Whilst we were having coffee, he walked past and looked at a tshirt on a stall! Actually, he looked more out of place because he wasn't covered in head to toe in velvet, hehe! :lmao:
Anyway, yes I'm rambling. He was giving a talk about "how to read life's handbook" in the afternoon, so we went along to that. He said some very interesting things, he was very funny chatting about his experiences and said something very sweet about Matthew Smith.
Apparently, about three months before Gordon joined the show, Matthew Smith went to see him and he actually made Matthew Smith cry with a lot of the information he was giving him. I thought that was so adorable, as we never really ever see another side of Matthew. I think he does have a certain vulnerability about him.
He talked a bit about Gordon, mentioned Ciaran once but I can't remember what that was about lol!
He really made me laugh when he said that when he was on the brink of death with pneumonia, a Priest and everything was called and he said "Goodness knows why, unless he was bringing shortbread" ;D He made no secret of his love of chocolate either!
The last part of the talk was a guided visualisation which was fantastic. He took us through something that started off quite similarly to when he offers protection to a seance etc, with the white light. The idea was try and introduce us to our spirit guides. My mum's done a bit of meditation in relation to this before, but I've only done it a few times in relation to Buddhism (I did it for A Level) not the Qabala. She thinks she saw her spirit guide or someone she's seen before in meditation. I saw a purple splodge in a rose garden. Think I need to do some more work there lol!
There was no oppurtunity to take photos or speak to him personally sadly, but I have met him before so I wasn't too upset. All in all it was a really interesting day. David was much funnier than I'd really realised too. He was also not at all shy to make reference to his sexuality!
Anyway, I decided I wanted to be a true faery, so I bought myself a garland...
So there we go. If he does a talk or something anywhere else, I'd really recommend going to see him because he has a lot of interesting stuff to say, not just in relation to astrology and the Qabala etc. He's a really great, charismatic person.
