HISTORY Athelhampton Hall is a 15th century medieval house. Athelhampton has been a family home for centuries.
The family who lived there originally owned a pet monkey and there family motto was related to the monkey. One of the daughters had an unhappy love affair, and decided to kill herself in one of the hall's secret rooms.
As she made her way up the secret staircase and into the room, the monkey followed her. She locked herself and her pet inside and her faithful monkey soon died of starvation. Ever since, its ghost has been seen on the secret staircase and one can hear its claws scratching at the door.
Another ghost is the 'Gray Lady' who has been seen in the Tudor Room and two other ghosts who re-enact their duel in the Great Chamber. There is also a priest in long robes and a hood who has been seen at the Hall…
WHAT HAPPENED WHEN THE MOST HAUNTED CREW VISITED??
Once in the property, Derek connects with the spirit of a dead monkey, a pet of the previous inhabitants. Whilst walking around upstairs the crew all hear a cot rocking, but nobody is in the bedroom! This is a phenoma said to regularly occur in the bedroom.
The crew split into two groups – when the boys venture into the passageway where the monkey died, producer Karl feels something breathing on his ear...
Meanwhile Yvette, director Bev and Jason keep a vigil next to the cot and catch orbs on camera.
