From its earliest days as an Inn, this house has been connected with evil. The house has been linked to witchcraft, black magic, smugglers, robbers, murderers, highwaymen, intrigue and ghosts.
Treasure Holt for many years has held the reputation of being the most haunted house in the district. In the 1920s it was investigated by the Society of physical research, in 1928, a brick floor was being re-laid when some human bones, leather buckles and a token dated 1793 was discovered.
However Treasure Holt as it is known now dates back beyond 1138. In earlier days it was called Perles, or Pearls Farm and for many years it was an old coaching inn.
Treasure Holt, even today, stands isolated on the edge of Holland Marshes with a long lane leading to the house, set back from the road one could easily pass by it without knowing that it is there. If all the stories about this house were to be believed it would be absolutely steeped in history.
Apparitions include a woman dressed in a crinoline gown who rustles through the house, a cavalier in the lounge. A man in a suit who had died four years ealier – his son witnessed the apparition. Many people claim to have seen a monk in the grounds, usually walking about a foot or so above the ground.
Another ghost seen here is that of a lady with long blonde hair seated near the fireplace playing a spinet. Another lady with blonde hair has been seen riding a white horse down the lane
When Treasure Holt was a inn it was run by an evil innkeeper and his wife. The couple is said to have befriended and corrupted a monk, Simon, who stole from the Priory for them. The monk disappeared in one of the numerous tunnels which linked the Priory to the Inn and his ghost is often seen roaming the grounds and the lanes leading to Treasure Holt.
Round the corner a local highway man’s ghost still hangs. The man had been hung there by the villagers after they decided that they had been robbed enough.
what happened when most haunted went there??
Derek is guided round the house by the ghost of Simon The Monk. As he moves around, he sees The Crinoline Lady, while ghostly Uncle Percy communicates to the crew through Derek.
Derek also sees a cavalier walk into the room.
The crew link hands and try to make contact with the ghosts. In spite of feeling cold, when they check the temperature gauge it has gone up...
Yvette, Jason and Marcelle also venture into the surroundings woods, only to hear noises....
